Cover Reveal The promise by Kate Benson

Kate Benson
Author Bio:
I grew up in Texas and moved to Florida when I met the love of my life 13 years ago. I wrote my first poem when I was five and it was about my love affair with pickles. I still love pickles but I like to think my writing has grown since then. I absolutely adore anything to do with books whether it's writing them or devouring them in one sitting. I live on music, love, and sweet tea. I am known for my silly but blunt personality. I've been lucky enough to find the love of my life, marry him and now we're working on our happily ever after. He inspires me in everything I do, but especially in telling love stories. I'm an ordinary girl living an extraordinary love and I'm so happy I get to share it with the world through my writing. I can't wait for you to read my debut novel, The Promise!

The Promise Synopsis

Devastated by circumstances beyond her control, Sophie Ryan’s life rips her from the arms of her first love, Jack. With only memories of their lost love, she’s forced to start over in a new town; surviving on her own for the first time since he left. Trying to begin her new life, fate decides a different direction for her, causing her to make a choice she never thought she’d have to.
Unsure of commitment after his failed engagement, Chase Mitchell finds himself stuck on a path of failed conquests and late nights at the bar. That is until he finds a pair of mesmerizing green eyes sitting in his usual spot. Something about this quiet girl forces him to question everything he has ever thought about love.
As Sophie looks down at the fork that’s presented in her path, will she choose the right direction? Will she be able to move towards the arms of the man who stands in front of her? Or will she choose to keep her promise to the one life forced her to leave behind?

10 Things You Don’t Know About Kate Benson
I am a lover of all things vampire. Shiny, decaying, gross, hot. I don’t care. I love them all. Yes, Edward Cullen is my favorite. Yes, I know he glitters in the sun. Yes, I love him anyway.

My two favorite books are The Color Purple by Alice Walker and The Edge of Never by J. A. Redmerski. They are also the only two books that have ever made me sob like a baby.

I am a huge music lover and listen to it any chance I get. If I can’t, I’m singing in my head. I also get really nervous if I try to drive without the radio on and find it impossible to listen to Outkast without shaking it like a Polaroid picture.

Ever since I had an accident in one on my twelfth birthday, I’ve been terrified of go-carts.

I don’t know how to roller skate and I can’t do a cartwheel. However I can air guitar like nobody’s business.

I love tattoos and have ten of them.

My favorite color is hot pink. I wear at least one hot pink thing every day.

My favorite singer ever is Freddie Mercury and I celebrate his birthday every year. I make a cake, watch (and sing along to) at least one Queen concert, wear moustache earrings and a Betty Boop shirt. Sometimes I even wear a cape. Yes, you read that right. I have a cape and it’s awesome.

I love to use swear words.

When I was fifteen, I had a dream about my wedding day. In the dream I married someone I didn’t know at the time. When I was twenty one, I met him while I was on vacation. He’s now my husband.

Review of Irresistible desire by Danielle Jamie

Book one of the Savannah Trilogy.

Savannah has been dating her boyfriend Logan for four years. She thought he was the man she was going to marry, spend the rest of her life with and one day build a family with. The life she imagined for Logan and her all changes in a matter of seconds. Her entire life came crashing down all around her after she catches Logan in bed with another woman.

Savannah decides to leave Los Angeles and stay at her family's beach house in Galveston, Texas. She never imagined a man she only met once before, would come back into her life and be the one to mend her broken heart.Kayden blows into her life faster than a tornado in Spring. After a wild weekend together, both of their lives will be changed forever.

Sav's Review-

Holy wowzers. You know those books you read and you just wanna crawl inside of it and live there??? Well this is one of those books. I absolutely loved all of the characters except for one (logan) the horrid ex but as far as everyone else I truly did love them all :) Anyway here goes.... Savannah is a great character, she has her head on right and is young an overall great person. Her boyfriend Logan UGH I knew he was a total rat from the beginning and I wanted to hurt him. She is faithful and loves Logan until one night when logan's wrong doings catch up to him and sends Savannah into the arms of the SEXIEST MAN IN THE WORLD and I mean literally, that's how she met him actually. Kayden Knox is the sexy, rich, charming, badboy that every girl wants. He is a f&%k em' and chunk em' kinda guy until he meets Savannah and he just can't get this beautiful blonde haired girl out of his mind. Now mind you no girl ever spends more than one night in Kayden's bed but there is always an exception to that rule right? Savannah and Kayden share this amazing chemistry that neither of them can explain. It's a magnetic pull neither of them have experienced.

"Smile Savnnah the worlds hottest guy wants you and he wants you really bad"

"I feel Kayden's eyes burning into me as I lick the salt off my hand, and suck seductively on my lime. I shift my eyes back up to meet his; the sexual tension between us is so thick that I swear you could taste it in the air. I feel my entire body start to burn with desire as he gazes into my eyes and licks the whiskey from his lips.... My mind wanders to those lips... that tongue licking between my thighs... and I quiver."

This book has a great storyline and it keeps you hooked always wanting to turn the page to see what is gonna happen next! I LOVED IT! Plus the sex is HAWT!!!! 5 HOT STEAMY STARS GOES TO IRRESISTIBLE DESIRE  and now i'm going straight into book 2 :)

Only For You *ARC Review*

When Scarlet realized Penelope was dumping Sean, her best friend, she was devastated. Penelope was the love of his life, the woman of his dreams. Scarlet knew how far her best friend was going to fall and she had to catch him. Scarlet became Sean’s rock and helped him through a very painful breakup, but her own hidden desires bubbled to the surface in the process. When they finally gave in and slept together, she thought it was the start of their new relationship. Unfortunately, Sean didn’t feel the same.

Humiliated and heartbroken, Scarlet moved across the country and found what she least expected. She rekindled her damaged relationship with her brother, who she hadn’t spoken to in a year, and her brother’s best friend was attractive and interesting. Their relationship was natural and unforced, and she was immediately drawn to him. Would she be able to get over Sean, forget about him, by sleeping with Cortland, or would that just be another repeated mistake?

The book opens with Scarlet being told by Penelope that she will be dumping Sean, Scarlet's best friend. Scarlet is heartbroken by this, and realizes how hard it will hit Sean. She wants Penelope to tell Sean why she is breaking up with him, but Penelope doesn't want to hurt him even more than she already will. This is hard on Scarlet because of how it will affect Sean, but also because her and Penelope have become friends in the three years that they have been together.  She wants to be there for him, and help him through this.

"What a fucking whore" he snapped.
"I agree."
"And a fucking bitch."
"You are too good for her, Sean."
"Fuck yeah."

Her co-worker Janice is always asking her about what is between her and Sean. Scarlet denies having feelings for him. I really believe that at first, she just believed that they were friends. BUT, with as much time as they were spending together after the breakup, her feelings started to morph into something different.

"Sean was my friend, but for the first time I didn't see him as only my friend. I wanted him in a sexual way, too. Sean was the most respectable man I knew. I knew he was still buzzed, but I also knew he wouldn't take advantage of me or our friendship."

One night they sleep together and you can finally see that she is really in love with him. Unfortunately when the feelings are not reciprocated and she finds him with another woman, Scarlet runs.

She goes across country to be with her brother. While there, she hooks up with a close friend to her brother. She is trying all she can to get over Sean, but is sleeping with someone else really going to help her get over what she thought could be with Sean? Will her and Sean work out.... Will her and Cortland make a run for it?

I really liked Scarlet at first. She stood up for herself when her boss at the editing firm hit on her. She has a witty personality and her banter with Janice and with Sean really draw you in.

Sean seemed like a pushover, with all the wallowing he did over Penelope. The strong part of his character was the way he wanted to protect Scarlet.

Ryan is a great big brother who genuinely cares for his sister, and wants to protect her.

Cortland is a sweet guy, with a big heart.

Review of If Only by Cherise Sinclair

After the last fiasco, Sally gives up. She’ll never find a Dom of her own. Instead the computer whizz is job hunting in between bending the law—just a bit—to unearth the bastards who’d enslaved her friends. The clueless cops and Feds obviously need help.

FBI special agents, Galen and Vance, have waited to play with Sally for a long time. When the mischievous submissive returns to the exclusive Shadowlands BDSM club after an ugly relationship, the experienced co-tops are pleased. Realizing she’s suppressing her emotions, the powerful Doms push her—only to find that her sassiness conceals a scarred and vulnerable heart.

Shaken by the unexpected emotional exposure, Sally flees the demanding Masters and the Shadowlands.

Both Galen and Vance have reasons not to seek a long-term submissive, but when a brutal attack by her ex-Dom sends Sally into their home, the two agents are driven to protect her. To help her. To take her under command. Falling in love isn’t in the plans.

But as the little imp brings light into their lives, they begin to want more…until they discover she’s hacked into an organization that delights in burning people alive

Sav's review-

Whoaaaaa buddy! This is book 8 in the Club Shadowlands series and I was itching for this book! I love love love this series. It's easily my favorite BDSM series. Anyway I love all the charachters each one is just lovely, a breath of fresh air if you will. So I knew this one would be no different. I loved Sally and the Feds Galen and Vance in previous books. Sally is a sassy one. Bubbly and fun and mischievious BUT you find out so much more about her and my heart broke. Totally shattered for this poor girl. I'm invested in these characters so I cried ALOT lol. Vance and Galen *sigh* sexy as sin men. They work well together. They are smart, strong, gorgeous, and kinky as hell! The sex was HAWT!!!! At one point I said 'surely hes not gonna put his hand there' but he did and I was turned ON OMG! Galen was actually my favorite I  just fell hard for him. I love their compassion and their ability to know what Sally needs when she needs it. That being said we get more drama from the Harvest association, SHIT HITS THE FAN and I could not breathe. My friend Dee had to talk me through this part I was crying so hard. Cherise has the amazing ability to make you FEEL everything that is happening and I love being along for the ride. The masters never fail to amaze me and OMG the pet names I just LOVE! Here's a few of my favorite quotes...

"God, could they be anymore perfect? Blinking away tears, she remembered back in spring, she'd given up on love. On finding a dom. On hope. Now she had love in abundance, hope for a future... and two Doms."

"Pretty Sally," Galen murmmured, "can't move, can't yell. His lips curved slightly. "can't come."

"Snuggled in compassion, embraced in safety, she let herself slide away"

"I look forward to turning your pretty ass red. To seeing tears in your eyes. And making you come so hard the neighbors will hear you scream our names"

"DEMON DOMS"

Anyway those are just a few of many of my favorites y'all go visit the shadowlands y'all won't be sorry!!!!  5 AMAZING STARS FOR IF ONLY!!!!

REVIEW BY SAV-
This is BOOK 2 in the Yearning series so if you have not read the first then STOP reading and go pick up book 1 Yearning devotion!

Wow just wow is all I can say about this book. I felt like I waited forever to get the rest of the story because I was screaming when I finished the first book. Basically you have Gwen which has some issues from the past that are deadly and will not leave her alone. She is in fact in love with two people. One male ( Cole) and one female ( McKayla) and both love her as well. I was constantly wondering how they were gonna make this relationship work as it's not your typical love story, but they did it. Of course there was some jealousy there from McKayla that caused an issue but it all sorts itself out. Gwen becomes pregnant and evil she's running from catches up to her and she has a miscarrage. She also wakes up with amnesia and doesn't remember anyone. Her world is shattered but thing I like most is how strong Gwen is. Cole *sigh* I just love him. He is AMAZING to say the least. I'm serious! Perfect book boyfriend. He will do anything to make Gwen happy and makes sure she is safe and protected. Can this love duo create a family out of the shit hand that they've been dealt??? Or will it all come crashing down??? That is why you need to read this series :) Rachael did a great job and creating the ultimate 'differnt' love story. It's captivating and shows love and compassion and how true love knows no bounds. I think you will enjoy this book especially if you like to step outside the box of normal everyday love story! I cried several times, I got scared, and I smiled and cried happy tears. Plus the sex is HAWT!!!! So get check it out! 5 beautifully different stars goes to Yearning Absolution!

Review of A Window to Love by Fifi Flowers

Melissa Bennette lives a quiet life in New York City. After the tragic death of her parents, Melissa is alone. After attending a office holiday party, Melissa decides to walk the beautiful city of New York in hopes of reminding herself of the wonderful memories she had with her family. It's on her journey through the city that she stumbles upon a photo of Evan Duke - who is without a doubt the most beautiful man she has ever seen.

Male model, Evan Duke has his sights set on Melissa. The night of her office holiday party, he sees her leave and he follows her. He sees the beautiful woman lost in her own world of sadness and pain and wants to know her better.

After a passionate weekend together, Melissa knows that there is no way that she can keep Evan forever. She knows that it can only end with her all alone again.
I'm going to miss that gorgeous face, that amazing hard body and the best sex of my life. I think the worst part will be the emptiness.

Even though Evan questions his motives with Melissa, he realizes that he is falling in love with her, and he knows without a doubt that he can make her happy.
I want to take care of her. I want to make everything right in her life. I want to take away her pain. Is she just a project for me? A new campaign? Am I trying to make another thing in my life perfect? If I'm questioning myself, she has to be questioning my motives as well. The truth of the matter is, in my heart, I know I'm falling in love with her.

Can the love that they are forming survive the pressures of "stardom" that come with being a sought after male model? Will the rumors flying through the tabloid tear them apart?

Fifi Flowers keeps you turning the pages (and fanning yourself often) through this steamy love affair. Brace yourself for a fun, exciting and erotic ride.

Review of Making Faces by Amy Harmon

Ambrose Young was beautiful. He was tall and muscular, with hair that touched his shoulders and eyes that burned right through you. The kind of beautiful that graced the covers of romance novels, and Fern Taylor would know. She'd been reading them since she was thirteen. But maybe because he was so beautiful he was never someone Fern thought she could have...until he wasn't beautiful anymore.
Making Faces is the story of a small town where five young men go off to war, and only one comes back. It is the story of loss. Collective loss, individual loss, loss of beauty, loss of life, loss of identity. It is the tale of one girl's love for a broken boy, and a wounded warrior's love for an unremarkable girl. This is a story of friendship that overcomes heartache, heroism that defies the common definitions, and a modern tale of Beauty and the Beast, where we discover that there is a little beauty and a little beast in all of us.

Review done by Sav-
Okie dokie here is my very lame attempt to review a book that in my opinion is one of the hardest books I've ever had to review. It is just THAT good! This book is pure beauty. Want an example? Ok here goes..........

“True beauty, the kind that doesn't fade or wash off, takes time. It takes incredible endurance. It is the slow drip that creates the stalactite, the shaking of the Earth that creates mountains, the constant pounding of the waves that breaks up the rocks and smooths the rough edges. And from the violence, the furor, the raging of the winds, the roaring of the waters, something better emerges, something that would have otherwise never existed.
And so we endure. We have faith that there is purpose. We hope for things we can't see. We believe there are lessons in loss, power in love, and that we have within us the potential for a beauty so magnificent, our bodies can't contain it.”

Told ya!!! Just beautiful!  So the book starts off with Fern and her cousin Bailey. Fern has the heart of gold, she is good in every way imaginable and I instantly fell in love with her character. The issue here is that everyone she ever encountered looked at her like 'the ugly duckling' so in her mind she was just the ugly invisible girl and that y'all just broke my damn heart.

“If God made all our faces, did he laugh when he made me?

Does he make the legs that cannot walk and eyes that cannot see?

Does he curl the hair upon my head 'til it rebels in wild defiance?

Does he close the ears of a deaf man to make him more reliant?

Is the way I look a coincidence or just a twist of fate?

If he made me this way, is it okay, to blame him for the things I hate?

For the flaws that seem to worsen every time I see a mirror,For the ugliness I see in me, for the loathing and the fear.

Does he sculpt us for his pleasure, for a reason I can't see?

If God makes all our faces, did he laugh when he made me?

^^^^^^ That quote right there BROKE MY HEART! I sobbed for hours just from that quote.

Now I give you the 411 on Bailey! Oh my dear sweet Bailey. BAILEY WAS FANTASTIC!!! He has a muscular disease which was basically making his ability to move very limited and soon he was stuck in a wheelchair. Did you hear him complain? NO. Did you hear him blame everyone for his disability and just be a sour person?? NEVER. He had the heart and courage of a lion. Bailey was literally my favorite character of ANY BOOK I HAVE EVER READ! He made my heart smile :)

“Everybody is a main character to someone”

Now I've made it to Ambrose. The guy every girl wants. The jock. The popular boy. Ambrose was HOT and in typical books the popular guys are jerks but not Ambrose. He was straight laced. No wild one night stands no alcohol no drugs. He knew Bailey and Fern and while he was goodie goodie with them, he wasn't mean to them either. Well one day tragedy strikes, what we all know as 9/11 the day the towers went down and many lost their lives. That was a turning point for Bailey. When he graduated he wanted to fight for his country. He went into war and his closest friends went with him. Then tragedy strikes again as they are hit with a roadside bomb. They didn't make it except for Ambrose who was terribly damaged and scarred. After he came home he hid but Fern and Bailey helped save him! Now Fern is not the ugly girl anymore she is now beautiful and he is the 'ugly' one. Can he overcome his fears and insecurities and love the girl who I think he always loved??? Well I guess you need to read and find out because it is truly amazing. This book is full of love and loss and finding your way and finding your inner beauty and just having the will of Hercules! This story almost is a new day beauty and the beast but with so much more! You are guaranteed to love it with every turn of the page!
This book gets 5 hearts from me!!!

Review of Very bad things

Behind every beautiful thing is a world of pain. – Nora Blakely”

Nora Blakely is an 18 year old girl who has been born into a life of privilege and wealth – a life that she would sacrifice if she could just have happiness. She has spent her entire childhood being ridiculed by her Mother’s demands to become the epitome of perfection. And though she is beautiful and smart – nothing is ever good enough for her mother. She will never be “thin” enough. Never be “smart” enough. Never be enough, period. And then, there is Finn – Nora’s half-brother who is a constant source of angst and trouble in her life. One day – in front of hundreds of people, the pressure of working to be something that she’s not causes Nora to snap.

Losing it in front of people who matter – in front of her mother – frees something inside of Nora. She feels a bit lighter than she has before. So she adapts a theory that if doing one “bad thing” made her feel good, then completely rebelling against her mother and her mother’s every wish will end the misery that she has found herself in, and finally allow her to be happy.

Whatever was waiting for me, I could handle it. I simply needed to do the things on my list: get drunk, get high, and get laid. Get relief. End of story.

The first time Leo Tate sees Nora – he’s watching her lose it in front of his little brother’s school. At 25, Leo has had a life that’s not really all that fair. He is the full time guardian of his 17 year old brother since his parents were murdered, and he has given up his dreams to take care of Sebastian. Seeing Nora, he instantly has her pegged as a young, spoiled, rich brat who has had everything handed to her on a silver platter. However, despite her outside appearance, Leo is drawn to Nora in a way that he has never been drawn to anyone else.

Nora is so smitten with Leo that she begins to pursue him relentlessly. But Leo refuses to give in to the temptation of being with Nora. For one – she’s too young. Two – he’s the love ‘em and leave ‘em type. He doesn’t stick around. Three – she’s too “fragile” for Leo. But those reasons are just a front. Leo is scared to love. After losing his parents so tragically and suddenly – he doesn’t want to risk his heart again.

The majority of the story is spent with Nora pining after Leo and Leo denying his attraction to Nora. Leo sticks with his….. “friend” Tiffani because it’s just easier to be with someone you don’t have real feelings for. Nora learns the hard way that sometimes you have to move on from something – even if it’s what you think you want.

“It’s hard to give up something when it’s everything you want.”

After trying to exorcize her demons by attempting a list of “bad things” Nora begins to realize that maybe, just maybe – it’s not the bad things that make her happy. She begins to find her own way through life – jumping hurdles and facing obstacles head on. She begins to focus on the little things in life, and slowly – she becomes, dare she say it – happy…

“Happiness is simply collecting and remembering all the good moments in your life, kinda like beads on a necklace.”

I will say that there were some things about this book that were frustrating. Nora was, at times, very immature. I believe that had a lot to do with the world she had grown up in and the things that had happened to her. As she grew in the story, she became more likeable. In the end, I did like her. The other thing that bothered me was the lack of time we got to experience Leo and Nora as an actual “couple”. They went from fighting their attraction tooth and nail to “soul mates” rather quickly and we didn’t get to enjoy their relationship much before the book ended.

Overall, this was a great story of learning where to place value in your life. Of growing up despite your past. Rekindling the hope that was stomped out due to tragic circumstances and events. Finding happiness in the little moments that are sometimes so overshadowed by our need to experience BIG things.

4 Very Good Stars!
