Blog Tour and Review for Phoenix's Fate by Dawn Sullivan

YES! That day is finally here! The release of book 2 in the RARE series by Dawn Sullivan! Time to get to know Phoenix a little better ;)

RARE:  Rescue and Retrieval Extractions
-they took on the missions that
no one else wanted and did not
stop until the job was done

After a long stint in the military, Phoenix hooked up with RARE so he could continue to do what he did best…..Rescuing people and dispensing punishment to those who deserved it.  However, lately he had been feeling like something was missing in his life.
Serenity had been running for several years from her pack who wanted to use her for her special healing abilities, and from a psychotic wolf shifter who insisted she was his mate.  She had not realized there were worse things to be running from until she was kidnapped by the General’s men.  After several months of being held in captivity, a rescue attempt was made by RARE at the facility where she and several other women were being held.  During the chaos, Serenity and one of the RARE team members were taken by the General.  Once Phoenix finds out Serenity is his mate, nothing will stop him from finding her and freeing her.
When Serenity’s demons from her past come back to haunt her, Phoenix must keep her safe not only from the General, but also from her past if they want a future together.

Author Bio:
I have a wonderful, supportive husband and three beautiful children.  I enjoy spending time with all of them which normally involves some baseball, shooting hoops, taking walks, watching movies, and of course reading.
My passion for reading began at a very young age and only grew over time.  Whether I was bringing home a book from the library, or sneaking one of my mom's romance novels and reading by the light in the hallway when we were supposed to be sleeping, I always had a book.
I read several different genres and subgenres, but Paranormal Romance and Romantic Suspense have always been my favorites.  I read anything by Katie Reus, Lora Leigh, J.R. Ward and Rebecca Zanetti.
I have always made up my own stories, and have just recently decided to start sharing them.  I hope everyone enjoys reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.

Holy smokes!!!! There are just no words.... Who the hell am I kidding! There are tons of words to describe this book! Dawn has done it again, only this time, way more action, way more suspense, way more romance, way more hot smoky steaming sexiness! Phoenix is a human... for now, but he has the heart and soul of a beast! He's protective, commanding, and ALL alpha male! But he's also sensitive and caring... to a point. I know one thing, I'd take Serenity's place any day! Serenity is Phoenix's mate and he will do any and everything to keep her safe. And I do mean ANYTHING. They have a future to look forward to and Phoenix is going to make sure they get to enjoy that future. Especially after Serenity meets his newest little addition. They want to have peace and a family and Phoenix and the rest of the members of RARE are going to see to it that they have that peace, one way or the other.

Angel, the HBIC, is as awesome as ever. Even though you do see some of her more womanly emotions come out in this book, she is still kicking ass and taking names! I just love her in this series! I mean, who doesn't love a bad ass b*tch that's in charge of all these super powerful men?! And don't even get me started on her talents! If I could just learn how to throw a star one time, I'd be happy! I mean, the woman is seriously one of the toughest female leads I've seen in a long time. We find out in this book why she doesn't let anyone in and why she prefers to be left alone. And let me tell you, she definitely has good reasons! Although, with Chase by her side, (her true mate) I believe she could get through it! Especially since she has some closure in this book... sort of. I'm crossing my fingers for Chase! Even more so since Angel decided that he's not allowed to be with anyone else; devious woman! Angel is going to need all the help she can get since her family has all of a sudden grown exponentially!
Several of the other members of RARE have found there mates. Some are working great, some not so much. *Sigh* Trace come back!!! Jade needs you!!! And and and Jinx, hurry up and do your thing, you know that thing you are so good at, then hurry back! Angel needs her WHOLE family! Oh and I just have to say something about Flame! I don't know what it is about her, but I expect great things in the future! She just has that "Angel Attitude" about her! She's going to make an interesting addition.... well as long as Bran gets his macho head outta his ***!
All in all, I loved this book! Yes, even more than the first! I don't know how it's even possible. I gave 5 stars for the first book, so I give 10 for this one... what? It only goes up to 5? Well, I'm saying that's not enough!!! I'm making my own rules! 10 it is! But for the purposes of Goodreads, Amazon and B&N, I will put 5. I vote there be more options for books like these! Thanks for an amazing read Dawn!!! Now hurry, I need to know what happens! Questions that need answers!!!!

Review - Finding Eden by Mia Sheridan

**Finding Eden is the continuation of Becoming Calder. Both books will release simultaneously, October 5, 2014**

Sav's 5 Star Review

Oh my goodness! There could not have been a more perfect follow up book to Becoming Calder. Seriously, Mia rocked it. I don't even have words to describe to you the depth of this love story.

Finding Eden is a story of second chances. Second chances on love and life. These are the types of books that don't need added in fluff or added in sex to make the story. The true impact of the story speaks high volumes all on it's own. It stands tall and towers above so damn flawlessly.

Mia takes you on a journey in Becoming Calder of such a taboo topic and she does it so wonderfully but I will tell you Finding Eden is such a different topic. It's life AFTER. It's survival. It's about how true love will ALWAYS prevail. No matter what hurdles are thrown at you. Life... Time.... Change.... True love will always be there.

I laughed, I cried, and felt so much joy reading this book my heart was completely full. I cannot, will not describe the plot to this book with you. Just please know, that this series is absolutely amazing. If you want to feel the joy I feel and have your heart bursting at the seams with joy. Then please give this series a chance on release day. Meet these wonderful characters, follow their beautiful yet heartbreaking story, live with them at Acadia, suffer the great flood, strive with them, cheer for them, watch them transform from sweet children to amazing adults, and fall in love with them and their  story completely as I have. You will not regret it!

Review of Her Best Shot by Shannyn Schroeder

With college graduation looming, three childhood friends vow to make spring break their last blast of pure fun. But at least one of them didn't count on such incredible heat…

Layla Sharpe is definitely more math ninja than bikini babe, and her future has been calculated with razor precision. Convinced to let loose over spring break, Layla is finally ready to party—until her car breaks down halfway to her destination, leaving her stranded in Georgia with a mouthwateringly hot pool shark. She knows more than enough about angles to learn the game, but this week she wants him to appreciate her curves…

Phin Marks has never met a girl like Layla. She’s more Star Wars geek than seductress, and when he offers her a place to stay while her car is in the shop, he’s counting on the attraction between them to set the nights ablaze, no strings attached. But every moment he spends with Layla makes it harder to let her go. Can he persuade her to gamble in the most dangerous way possible…on forever?

Leia's Review:

When Layla decides to head south to meet her best friend for spring break, she has no idea what life has in store for her.
After having her car break down in Atlanta, Layla meets Phin – a sexy, mysterious pool shark. They have an instant attraction that is hard to ignore. Once Layla thinks her luck is looking up, her purse is stolen, leaving her stranded and alone with no money or identification in a big city. Phin offers her a place to stay until she can figure everything out. But neither of them is expecting that one week together could change everything.

This was a good short story. The writing was good. The plot was good. The storytelling was good.
But I didn’t find anything exceptional from the experience. I actually had a hard time connecting with the characters. I felt like both Phin and Layla lacked a depth that I normally crave.

I am also not a huge fan of the insta-love concept in books. At all. And with the characters being a little two-dimensional, I couldn’t connect with the love that they had for each other.

I did find the concept of the story interesting. And I loved that Layla was a bit of a geek. She wasn’t a super model. She wasn’t a rich heiress. She was just a normal girl with a little geek to her.
And Phin was different as well. I don’t think I have ever read a story about a gypsy before, so that was an original concept and one that I found interesting. I would have loved for the author to dig deeper into these characters because I feel like they both had such promise.

I realize that I may be in the minority with my opinions on this book, considering the rating that it has. And that’s okay. Not every book is for every person. I will say, that overall the book held my interest. It just lacked some of the qualities that make a bookexcellent for me.

3 – 3.5 Stars
