BOOK REVIEW - Lawless by T.M Frazier

Thia is prim and proper.
Bear is leather and lawless.
It will never work between them.
It's a lie they almost believe...

It is necessary to first read King and Tyrant to fully enjoy Lawless.

Review

As a huge lover of all things T.M Frazier, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Lawless because, well, Bear was my absolute favorite character from King and Tyrant (these books need to be read first and foremost before starting Lawless).

I must also warn you - if you like sweet romance, full of hearts and flowers then this is not a series for you. I wouldn't consider it dark but everyone has a different view on what dark is. It most definitely has dark elements.... You have been warned....

I'm not even sure where I should start with this review. I feel like just telling everyone to just stop what they are doing and dive into the world of Bear and Thia.

Thia is a good girl. Young, innocent, and on the road looking for protection...

Bear is certainly rough. There's nothing he hasn't seen or done at least once and maybe twice on Sunday. And that's just the way he likes it, until her.

The innocence of this pink haired girl shakes Bear to his core. She brings out his need to protect, his inner lion. He'd do anything to keep her safe.. He'd stop at nothing.

This was hands down Frazier's best book yet. She went above and beyond to bring us a story that would take us to another level. It has a little of everything and the angst is off the chart. The last bit of the book I found myself bracing for the moment that she was going to hit me with the zinger, and boy did she ever. She left me with my mouth hanging open.

Do yourself a favor and jump in the world of hot bikers and even hotter sex... I promise you won't regret it!

FIVE STARS!!!

As High sinks into meting out vengeance for Millie's betrayal, he'll break all over again when he realizes just how Millie walked through fire for her man . .

Review

Kristen Ashley is a staple on any reading device. I've been a huge fan and supporter of her for years. She's the answer to life's problems. If you are in a funk, KA is the answer. If nothing else is grabbing your attention, KA is the answer. She is the queen of what she does and I'll tell the world that in a heartbeat. Of course I jumped at the oppurtunity to read this book and it quickly starts out with that KA thing that I love. If you are a fan then you know how loud her voice is, you can find her quick banter and smoldering heat in a second. I can definitely tell her writing from a crowd, she can NEVER be duplicated. Anyhoots, back to my sole purpose of writing this review....

This is the story of Millie and Logan (High) and it's one that you'll not soon forget. Their love story starts out very early in life for them but it's a strong love, a powerful love. The once in a lifetime love that most dream about, that is until a nightmare happens and it's completely stripped away. Millie left with no warning essentially breaking Logan's heart only to return 20 years later.... The only thing is, will Logan even want to hear about the events that stripped Millie from his life or will the wall he's built up around his heart crumble to the ground with one look at Millie?

This is a strong story, a heartbreaking story of the ultimate sacrifice. When life gives you no other choice, would you ruin the one you love just to give them what they wanted most? I loved the feel of this book. I found myself  needing to know more... But.... As much as I liked this book, I have to say it's not my favorite KA  read. I just found myself at a disconnect at times, not fully being able to connect with the characters or the story. Logan's dialogue is another problem for me, I found myself having to reread lines at times and after a bit it really got distracting. Have no fear though, chances are you won't agree with me, I seem to be in the minority on this one. 3.5 Stars!

Betrayal by Aleatha Romig - BOOK REVIEW

One week. No future. No past. No more.
Alexandria Collins has one week to live carefree—no ghosts of her past or pressures of her future haunting her. Reinventing herself as "Charli," she is knocked off her feet by a sexy, mysterious man who brings her pleasure like she never imagined.  With her heart at stake, she forgets that decisions made in the dark of night reappear in the bright light of day.

"Some of my tastes are unique. They aren’t for everyone. I understand that.”

Lennox "Nox" Demetri is wealthy, confident, and decisive—he knows what he wants. From the first time he sees Charli at an exclusive resort, he knows he wants her. Although he is usually the one to make the rules, together they agree on one:

One week. No more.

When betrayal comes from those closest to Alexandria, she must decide how far she is willing to go to survive. Choices are not always easy, especially when they involve the heart, body, and soul. After all, Infidelity is a business, and some rules are meant to be broken.

"Is it really cheating if you're doing it to yourself?"

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a sexy, new dominant hero who knows what he wants, and a strong-willed heroine who has plans of her own. With classic Aleatha Romig twists, turns, deceptions, and devotions, this new epic dark romance will have readers swooning one minute and screaming the next. Have you been Aleatha'd?

BETRAYAL is a full-length novel and the first of five in the INFIDELITY series.

 ~Review~

Oh my lanta! Nox...what to say about him!?! He's a mystery. He's powerful, but how powerful; we're not sure....
Imagine you've just graduated with your undergraduate degree, what would you do? How would you treat yourself? Well, Alexandria aka Alex decides a week vacation is a good idea. What she doesn't plan on is Nox.
Once again the intrigue starts with page one and continues to the very end. I can't wait for Cunning in January!!

5 betrayed hearts!

"Because, since the first moment I saw you I've made exceptions. I've done and said things that I do not do. You do that to me. You make me a rebel even against myself."
I nodded, understanding exactly what he was saying. Nox had done the same thing to me. He'd made Charli into someone Alex or Alexandria would never be. Because of him I'd cheated on myself. And I loved him for it.
My eyes closed as another tear cascaded my cheek. I'd said the word, if only in my head. I loved Nox, a man with no last name.

Cover Reveal~ Floured by Lane Martin~

Title: Floured
Author: Lane Martin
Release Date: Nov 12, 2015

Emily Barnes likes things measured and timed, just like any baker. When she loses the apartment that she needs to run her home-based muffin business, she's faced with a choice: couch surfing at her very loud best friends' separated by thin walls or house sitting an otherwise empty Upper East Side luxury apartment overlooking Central Park. Obviously it’s a no-brainer for this smart cookie.

Declan Hayes is used to people asking things of him and saying no. However, for Maggie, his parent’s cook and housekeeper, he would do just about anything, including going over to his parent’s apartment to check on her pseudo niece who is staying there. His plan was to get in and get out, but the second he saw her, something changed. Something about her sparked the normally cold and dismal place to life; she made it warm and inviting. He finally understood the phrase “there’s no place like home.”

Can Emily and Declan trust the timing of their lives or adjust the lens from which they see them?

Hope, faith, trust and...love?

Will these things be enough for Emily and Declan to get the one thing they both never thought they needed in life?

It’s a good thing they are “Floured” because life is about to get sticky.

With a sigh, I leaned against the door jam and looked around the now empty apartment. Natalie sniffled through the phone. Leave it to my bleeding heart best friend to be crying when I was the one being evicted. “Are you sure that you don’t want me to come over?”

“I’m fine, Nat. Gabe just took off, and I’m about to leave too.” Thankfully Gabe is able to store the few things I own at his family’s business until I find a new place to live. I don't feel that bad about it because I do employ them to make all my deliveries for my company. I don’t know why I’m not more upset; maybe it’s because I knew it was the risk I was taking when I made my decision. Helping my sister was the right thing to do, even if it had led to the bright-green notice being attached to my apartment door. I can say for sure that I never want to experience this again. The pitiful looks I got from the neighbors wouldn’t be playing on my highlight reel any time soon. “This place was a shit hole. I’ll find something better.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to just stay with us?” I’d already had this conversation with both Nat and Gabe, and I didn’t want to have it again. I loved my best friends, but there was no way I was going to stay with them. Natalie was my roommate starting freshman year, and we quickly became inseparable. To others, we were the odd couple, but somehow we just clicked. I was the one from California, but she was the one with the blue eyes, blonde hair, and bohemian vibe. Natalie was fun loving, always the life of the party—not that I wasn’t fun, I was just more reserved, a little slow to warm up. I met Gabe in Social Foundations I, and when he asked me out, I couldn’t resist his boy-next-door charm and dimples. We didn’t make a love connection, but I knew instantly that he was perfect for Natalie. Gabe was as easygoing as Nat.

“I’m sure, Bridezilla.” She wasn’t really that bad, but no way in hell would I stay with Gabe and her when they had a lot of plans to finalize for the wedding. Besides, the walls in their apartment were paper-thin; I’m kind of surprised they hadn’t been evicted. I’m still not sure why they ever thought getting married on New Year’s Eve in New York was a good idea, but it’s what they wanted, and as maid of honor it was my job to go with the flow and keep the bride happy.

“Watch it, or I’ll switch your dress to the eighties throwback with the puffy sleeves, and you’ll be styling crimped hair and blue eye shadow.” I knew she was kidding. We both fell in love with my gray strapless dress with the perfect amount of bling the minute we saw it, just like we did hers. Yes, she had definitely experienced “that moment”, and we all cried right along with her.

“It’s your wedding.” I knew images of her wedding album were running through her head when we both began to laugh.

“You’re such a bitch.”

“But you love me anyway.” I truly did.

“You know I do. If you change your mind, you know where to find us.”

“Yeah, I do. Thanks, Nat, and thank Gabe properly for me when he gets home.” The little nymph picked up instantly on what I was implying, and I could tell that she liked the idea.

“Oh, you so know I will. He just walked in. I’ll talk to you later. Au revoir.” Nat was practicing her French for the Parisian honeymoon they were taking. I hit end on the phone and took one final look around. Things couldn’t get much worse, so that meant they had to get better. Right?

I never thought that I would write a novel, although my English teacher my freshman year in college told me that he would hunt me down if I wasn’t published by the time I was thirty. Well, thirty came and went. I was busy being a wife and working mother of two, and nobody came looking for me.

I doubt my sister thought she was about to change my life forever when she got me a book of “mommy porn” for my birthday in 2012, but that’s exactly what she did. After reading the first book in the trilogy, I rushed out and got the other two books. I became obsessed and read the series several times before learning about Fanfiction. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t get enough. The idea fascinated me and I thought, “I can do that.” I was a nervous wreck when I posted my first story, a one shot about my new favorite couple. One story lead to another and then another. My readers encouraged me to write something that was all mine, so that‘s what I did. Thank you to everyone who told me that I could do it. It wouldn’t have been possible without you.

I love reading, writing, traveling, and spending time with my family.  Thank you for going on this journey with me.

Death of the Spirit by Rick Chiantaretto

Death of the Spirit *Crossing Death #2*

Genre~Dark Fantasy/Occult

I have no idea who I am anymore.

In Los Angeles, I would have given anything to go home to Orenda, my world where magic was alive and nature spoke to me. Now that I'm back I feel out of place, burdened with responsibility. The human part of me misses the simplicity of Earth, the mage part begs for connection with magic, and the demon part? I don't want to admit that exists.

As the darkness inside me grows, I’ll learn to sacrifice for the greater good, as my people have always done. In order to save my family (both mage and human alike), I must face my nightmare, embrace the demon, and descend into the shadowy world of my enemy—the Hell of the Damned.

Once there, I will have nothing left to fear but myself: Edmund Gavel, human, mage, demon... maybe monster.

I've often been accused of having done more in my life than the average person my age but if I were completely honest, I'd have to tell you my secret: I'm really 392. So after all this time, I'm a pretty crappy writer.I have two books published and a bunch half written (when you have eternity, where's the reason to rush?). I've been favorably reviewed by horror greats like Nancy Kilpatrick, and my how-to-write-horror articles have been quoted in scholarly (aka community college freshmen's) papers.I enjoy the occasional Bloody Mary, although a Bloody Kathy or Susan will suffice.Mostly, I just try to keep a low profile so people don't figure out who I REALLY am.

BOOK REVIEW - Almost Perfect by Jenny Sielgel

For the last three month, Charlie has worked hard to reinvent herself as a good girl. Now living with her boyfriend Dominic, everything is perfect.

Almost.

Charlie thought she has escaped her past, but as more photographs surface, she wonders if it has finally caught up with her? Despite Dominic's assurances nothing can come between them; the truth isn't easy to accept when it's staring you in the face. Especially when Charlie realizes there might be more to the photos than someone trying to remind her of a life she'd rather forget.

Can she make peace with her past or will it destroy her present?

Being the good girl just got dangerous.

REVIEW BY ANGIE

Almost Perfect pretty much picks up right about where A Good Girl leaves off.

Charlotte/Charlie and Dominic are living in bliss. Or so they think. Strange things are happening that
are bringing up Charlie’s not so great past and she would like nothing more than to keep it there.

The book is packed full of drama and angst, with plenty of sexy times. I also loved that there was a nice little mystery thrown in. I love when a book has a bit of suspense to it but isn’t off the charts.
Almost Perfect is a likable story with likable characters and there really isn’t anything bad I can say about.

It was an enjoyable read all around.

BOOK REVIEW - A Good Girl by Jenny Siegel

The morning after the night before, eighteen-year-old Charlie has a wicked hangover and no memory of the party. Or why there is not one, but two hot guys in bed with her. Deciding she's done her last walk of shame, college is exactly the fresh start Charlie needs. Reinventing herself as Charlotte – the good girl, she vows no more wild parties, no more one night stands, and absolutely no more bad boys.

Everything is going perfectly. That is, until she catches the eye of the lead guitarist of hottest band on campus, Dominic Hudson. With his bad boy good looks and magnetic charm he is everything Charlotte's trying hard to resist, but he's not about to take no for an answer. Instead, Dominic sets out to prove that some guys are worth the risk. But Charlie knows all about guys like Dominic, hell, she used to chew them up and spit them out, and giving into their undeniable attraction means revealing her past. A past that she's sure will send him running.

With Dominic refusing to let her walk away, Charlie fights hard not to give into temptation, unwilling to risk losing not only her new reputation, but her heart.

Being the good girl isn't always easy.

Review by Angie

A Good Girl is the coming of age story of Charlie/Charlotte. She is trying to change her partying ways with a new beginning in college. Everything seems to be going as planned until she meets Dominic. They strike up a flirty friendship and it's clear that Dominic has a major attraction to her. And though she has one as well, she's not budging on the changes she wants to make.
I enjoyed the story and Charlotte intrigued me from the beginning. I wanted to understand more of what made her tick....or at least what did in the past and is making her want to change.
I also wanted to keep learning more about Dominic. Those were the two things that had me hooked.
A Good Girl is a feel good story with minimal drama and the drama that did exist wasn't over the top.
Overall its a good story even though it seemed a bit cookie cutter at times.

Excerpt

It was a gorgeous night, with the stars creating a twinkling canopy overhead, and as they walked along toward Place Vendome, Drew just couldn’t let her go.
“Perfect day, Mr. McKenzie,” she said, turning to him right beneath the obelisk and standing on her toes to offer her lips to his.
How stunning she looked with that alabaster skin and those lustful green eyes right in the stream of the Paris moonlight. He couldn’t resist her and brought his lips down upon hers, seeking to find her soul in that one lingering kiss.
“Know what I want, little one?” he whispered, his breath tickling her face. “I want to make good old fashioned vanilla love to you tonight.” Trailing his lips down over her chin and down to her neck, he exuded such tenderness in his affections and sentiments. “How’s that sound?”
“Sounds…divine…”
With his ever-protective nature, he walked her through the square and headed on toward the front entrance of the hotel. They paid no mind to the few photographers who always seemed to be hovering beneath those white awnings, lying in wait for bigger celebrities. However, it was a slow news night, so the flashbulbs illuminated the amber-hued square. He was, after all, heir to one of the world’s leading luxury department stores. The paparazzi could always sell their shots to their sister publications across the Atlantic.
Drew knew this was just something they’d have to deal with on a much grander scale once they returned to New York—at least for the time being. They were a young, wealthy couple. In the public’s eyes, they’d also married on a whim. The society gossips watched them with fascination. So what if they got caught kissing a few times, he reasoned. If nothing else, they’d have something to laugh about over their morning coffee with the daily newspapers.
Once they’d returned to their suite, Drew couldn’t turn the lock quick enough before he pulled Maxine close again.
“You know, per your instruction,” she began, “I have an entire suitcase filled with lingerie…”
“Go change,” he whispered as his lips brushed her forehead. “I’ll meet you in the master.”
There were already a few logs burning in the fireplace by the time Maxine returned to him in their bedroom, wearing nothing but a tiny slip of pewter satin lavishly trimmed in lace and beading with the thinnest of straps trailing over her shoulders—just one of her finds from La Perla. Drew had already rearranged some furniture and placed the divan right before the roaring flames. He wore nothing but his boxer briefs and a serene smile as she stepped into the room.
Opening his arms, he whispered, “Come here, gorgeous…”
As she joined him, he took her hands and drew her near—her cheek resting against his chest, her face turned toward the fire. Hands roaming over the exquisite silk of her tiny nightie, he murmured, “I swear you get more beautiful every time I look at you…”
“You’re drunk,” Maxine teased him.
“Yeah—on you…”
His lips ever so methodically found hers, plying so delicately as the tip of his tongue barely flicked at the inside of her mouth. They were in no hurry at all. He simply wanted to relish in every second of that night.
As if he were handling a delicate, porcelain doll, his hands feathered over her arms, stopping to entwine their fingers before caressing each and every one. This play verged on innocence, but was so highly sensual for Maxine at the same time. He had to do nothing but simply touch her hand, and she’d felt that spark of arousal begin to simmer. All the while, his mouth never left hers, kissing her breathless.
Just as easily, his hands wandered down over the backs of her thighs, tickled behind her knees, then slithered down over her calves before journeying back up again. Unhurriedly, he slipped his hands beneath the lacey hem of her nightie. There was no rush. There were no urgencies. And he could easily delight in her soft, silky skin all night long.
As his fingers passed over her wrist and hand, his lips followed—nipping gently at her knuckles before suckling them into his mouth. Faces so near, she pressed her forehead against his, and tittered softly.
Her lips traced a line from the bridge of his nose, over his mouth and the dimple in his chin, dragging against the roughness of his stubble, and then swept down his neck. She couldn’t help but to marvel over how relaxed they both were. Feverish lovemaking was so thrilling, but this almost sleepy stillness was such an enthralling diversion from their norm.
Maxine hummed as she continued to kiss him , following every single curve and cut of his abs before dipping down to circle his navel with her tongue. However, she willfully resisted temptation to drift downward. This purposeful exploration, avoiding their collective most sensitive spots, lured them both in the thrall of temptation. For once, though, Maxine didn’t feel the need to push and test the limits.
Instead, she just snuggled up on his stomach, and rested for a moment, while his hands combed her hair, curling the now wayward strands around his fingers.
The clock, carved in gold, ticked away on the mantle, the sounds playing against the crackle of the flames. They had no place to be but for the circle of their embrace. Reality had all but been forgotten for the time being, as they lived in just that single moment of their lives.
Usually, Drew clamored to get her out of whatever she was wearing, but the absolute splendor of seeing Maxine’s delicate frame beneath that wisp of satin just held him captive under her spell. His hands continued their sensual caresses, and Maxine luxuriated in his gentle touches which lingered at the small of her back then played upon her hips.
Settling back further on the antique settee, Drew closed his eyes and eased his head toward the backrest. He could feel her slithering up his chest, her hands returning to his shoulders.
Beginning at his hairline, Maxine placed the tiniest of kisses all over his eyes, his cheeks, his nose, his entire face—until he caught her chin between his fingers and opened his eyes to find those two glistening emeralds gazing back at him. In return, he saw the love and adoration in her stare.
