Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover review

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance.

At twenty-two years old, Sydney has a great life: She's in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her best friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter's cheating on her--and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by Ridge, her mysterious neighbor. She can't take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there's something about Sydney that Ridge can't ignore, either. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one...

Includes an original soundtrack created by musician Griffin Peterson.

From the author of the New York Times bestsellers Slammed, Point of Retreat, Hopeless, This Girl, and Losing Hope, Maybe Someday is destined to be another bestseller and long-lasting fan favorite

My Review
It is no secret that Colleen Hoover is my favorite author, it's just not. She has an amazing way with words that can not even be explained as anything other than exceptional. So when I was given the opportunity to read Maybe Someday, I actually screamed a little bit. I could not wait to dive in and see if she could by chance write a story that would in fact be any more touching and inspiring then her other books Slammed and Hopeless, cause lets be honest the bar had been set and even though I love her and had the upmost faith in her I just didn't know that she was gonna be able to pass that level of amazing-ness. Let me tell you, how wrong I was. Once again her unique ability to consume me completely was amazing. Oh and that's not even the tip of the iceberg because this time you have the music, the lyrics, and the AMAZING talent that is Griffin Peterson to consume you as well. So I promised a spoiler free review and that is what I am going to do. I'm not going to go into detail and break this book down because there is ALOT of things that I refuse to ruin for you, so here goes....
The book starts off with Sydney. Automatically my heart went out to her. Her boyfriend and best friend turned out to be assholes and it left her angry and hurt and essentially alone on her birthday. Well that is until Ridge comes along. He absolutely made me fall in love with him very very quickly. You will almost instantly love him and that love continually grows throughout this book until you are bursting with happiness. Anyway he saves the day. He and Sydney have an instantaneous connection as well that neither of them can explain so they just both put it off on the fact that they both share a love for music. As the book goes on you get to know some of the other characters in the book as well. You will get many laughs and many tears (both happy and sad) Warren being one of my favorite characters in this book is Ridge's roommate. He is hilarious to say the least. The banter and the practical jokes kept me in a fit of giggles.
As Ridge and Sydney continue on their musical journey, their attraction gets even stronger but the thing is they cannot act on the attraction. Neither character is in  the right spot in their lives to carry on with a relationship or complicate things or let a fling get in the way. Things were good with them as friends and they couldn't let the lines get blurred and ruin a really good thing.
"Hey heart. Are you listening? You and I are officially at war."
I found myself screaming more than once out of frustration and pain. I could literally feel their hearts bleeding and I just wanted them to be together and I wanted to make it better but at one point I questioned 'How can this get better?'  and I had no clue as to how Colleen was going to pull this ending off. It was complicated to say the least. Way more complicated than you can ever expect BUT we are talking about Colleen here so of course I got the ending I had prayed for and then some. It was an incredible journey of life, love, and lyrics all wrapped up beautifully into one book.
"Lines are drawn but then they fade, for her I bend. For you I break"
I highly recommend this book to each and everyone. It is awe inspiring. The beauty behind the lyrics is amazing. The beauty behind the story is even more heart warming than I could have ever imagined. This book doesn't just tell a story, it takes you on a journey. I know my review is extremely vague but when you read you will understand my need to be vague and thank me :) I give this book 5 awe inspiring stars!
Maybe not right now. Maybe not tomorrow. But Maybe Someday
