Kill Devil Hills and Changing Tides by Sarah Darlington - REVIEw

Kill Devil Hills (Kill Devil Hills #1)
By Sarah Darlington

Book Description:
He’s twenty-four. She’s eighteen.
His life is exactly the way he’s always wanted it to be...stable.
She’s quite possibly the very definition of unstable.
Noah saved her.
Georgina never wanted to be saved.
Growing up, Noah Clark was passed from one relative to the next until he finally ended up living with his abusive, alcoholic uncle in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Thanks in part to the unwavering love and support of his best friend, Ellie Turner, Noah survived those years, escaped his uncle, and grew into the man he is today. Now he runs his own business and lives a pretty normal, no-nonsense life—one where he maintains a high level of control.
Georgina is Ellie’s younger sister. Four months ago, Noah saved Georgie’s life, but he thought that was where his involvement with his friend’s sister would end. Now Georgie has returned home from the recovery facility her parents sent her away to and Noah, still haunted by the night that connects them, can’t stop himself from continuously trying to protect this girl he barely knows. But is he willing to give up all of the control he’s worked so hard to build in his life and risk everything for her? Even more importantly, would she do the same for him?

WARNING: This review contains SPOILERS!!!
I have never read anything by Sarah Darlington so I went in blind. I have to say that I was BLOWN away. I was sucked in by the first chapter and didn’t want to put the book down. I also really didn’t want the book to end. The characters were well written, lovable, and overall hilarious at times.
So the book starts out with Noah having to use the bathroom. When he gets to the bathroom what he finds is horrific. Georgina is lying in a pool of blood after having tried to take her own life. She is heartbroken over losing Ben (her brother) and she just wants to join him. She doesn’t want him to be alone. Georgina lives and is sent to a treatment center to deal with her suicide attempt. When she comes home that’s when sparks begin to fly. Noah can’t seem to get her off his mind and Georgina feels safe with him. Neither of them can explain the attraction and as much as Noah tries to fight it he can’t. Noah doesn’t want to want Georgina she would make his life complicated and Noah likes order. However no matter how hard he fights it Georgina is his! He wants her and there is no way around it.
Following these two on their journey was truly beautiful. Noah is sexy, confident, protective and delicious. Georgina is sweet, loving and beautiful in every way. The supporting characters in this book are also super amazing and I can’t wait to read their books. Grab this book today and you will not be sorry!

Changing Tides (Kill Devil Hills #2)
by Sarah Darlington

Book Description
"Nate West. Hollywood bad-boy. Television megastar. Womanizer. Basically everything I hate about the male species rolled into one handsome package. And yet…I want him."
Ellie Turner is a lesbian. She has tattoos, short hair, and a ‘don’t-mess-with-me-attitude.’ She knows who she is, loves who she is, and couldn’t care less what the rest of the world thinks of her. And since she has the most kick-ass best friend on the planet, Noah Clark, even when family drama gets in the way, nothing can offset her happy-go-lucky demeanor.
Until television star Nate West comes along. All thick muscle and alpha-male testosterone. When Ellie meets him on an airplane the only thing Nate West should be good for is a brand new profile picture on Facebook. Right? Wrong. Turns out he’s good for so much more.
This man is going to flip everything Ellie thought she knew about herself upside down.

This book is the second book in the Kill Devil Hills series. It can be read as a standalone. But the first one was really good so don’t pass it up. Read them BOTH!! Changing Tides is Ellie’s book and I was amazed that I was as sucking into this book as I was the first. Ellie amazed me with her courage and once again we have a YUMMY man (Nate). Back up did I say yummy man? That’s right I did. Ellie out and proud lesbian has interest in a MAN!
The book starts out with everyone catching a flight to California. We have the whole crew- Ellie, Noah, Georgie, Rhett and even Luce and Sydney. The flight they are on is pretty empty and Ellie has to use the bathroom. The bathroom in coach is full so she asks to use the first class one. The flight attend says no but the only man in first class tells her to just go. She recognizes his voice. He’s Nate West star of her favorite TV show!!! They start to chat and both of them feel something. Nate (or Nathaniel as he prefers to be called) wants her. Ellie is so confused because she wants him too. But she’s a lesbian. After a hot and heavy make out session that almost leads to more they stop. Ellie decides this is wrong and weird and flees before Nathaniel can speak to her again.
Fate steps in and has these two finding each other again. But will Ellie give in to the attraction? Follow these two on their journey and see how once chance meeting can change everything. This book was beautifully written. Once again we have a delicious man, a beautiful women and a cast of characters who are hilarious. I loved this book and can’t wait to read more!
