Jacked by Tina Reber - Review

We all have skeletons in our closets.

Doctor Erin Novak was only sixteen when she was accused of a crime she didn't commit. Since that moment, she has made it her life goal to pursue emergency medicine, pouring her heart and soul into assuring another innocent life isn’t lost to the hands of the wicked.

We all have secrets we've never shared.

Detective Adam Trent has lost control of everything, starting with losing his partner to a punk with a gun and then everything else to the crushing guilt. Now a member of the elite Auto Theft Task Force in Philadelphia, it's his job to be one step ahead of the criminals stealing expensive cars in the city. Too bad the television cameras keep getting in the way of his investigation.

We all have pasts that we can never escape.

A stolen car, a tragic chase, and a traffic stop crosses the fates of these two, tying them together in ways that are unimaginable. As their love and trust grows, so do the enemies that threaten their survival, testing the strength of their commitment. Can true love endure half-truths, past pains, and secrets never meant to be shared?

Some things are just out of our control.

Love Unscripted spin-off featuring Kyle Trent's older brother, Adam.

Review

So let me start out by saying, that cover, whoa, just looking at it, you know that somebody is gonn be gettin' tied up. That fact excited me - it excited me alot because it's something I've been searching for. A book to give me bondage while having a hot alpha male and an amazing plot. Trust me, this book had it all. As you may know espescially if you follow my reviews, I'm not a fan of reading the synopsis of a book. I like the element of surprise. So aside from the beautiful cover, and the title (which really only makes 100% sense after you read it) then I had no idea what I was getting myself in for. Just hold my breath and prayed it was gonna blow me away... And... It did.

We get introduced to the main characters pretty quickly as they too meet fairly quickly. Fate at it's best. Two people, two occupations, one night gone wrong bringing them together. <- pretty badass right? The whole premise for the story was actually this same way. A strong, broody, alpha cop and a smart, strong, witty, emergency trauma doctor. Both dedicated to saving the lives of many. Both passionate. Both have demons haunting their pasts.

Adam has an urge to be dominate, while protecting the doctor that he can't seem to get off of his mind. Erin has this beautiful and caring soul who just wants to be loved with the same fierceness that she loves.

When the case Adam is working on, and the side job of filming a 'cops' like tv (which he hates, you'll have to read to understand all that goes with this) and with crazy exes stalking his every whim, can he prove to Erin that he truly is a genuine man that genuinely loves her? And even so, when the lines between right and wrong blur and Erin get caught in the crossfire, will Adam be able to save her and salvage their relationship?

This book is full of twists and turns. It took a few turns I didn't expect. The first half was absolutely amazing but the second half was pure literary genius. As a fan of Tina's past work, I can say that I am now a forever fan. This book confirmed it. This is a book that you literally have to experience for yourself. Buy it, read it, love it!!! 5 'Got my stomach in knots' STARS!!!
