My review of Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters

A New Adult Dark Contemporary Romance, not suitable for people sensitive to grief, slavery, and nonconsensual sex. A story about finding love in the strangest of places, a will of iron that grows from necessity, and forgiveness that may not be enough.

“My life was complete. Happy, content, everything neat and perfect.
Then it all changed.
I was sold.”

Tess Snow has everything she ever wanted: one more semester before a career in property development, a loving boyfriend, and a future dazzling bright with possibility.

For their two year anniversary, Brax surprises Tess with a romantic trip to Mexico. Sandy beaches, delicious cocktails, and soul-connecting sex set the mood for a wonderful holiday. With a full heart, and looking forward to a passion filled week, Tess is on top of the world.

But lusty paradise is shattered.

Kidnapped. Drugged. Stolen. Tess is forced into a world full of darkness and terror.

Captive and alone with no savior, no lover, no faith, no future, Tess evolves from terrified girl to fierce fighter. But no matter her strength, it can’t save her from the horror of being sold.

Can Brax find Tess before she’s broken and ruined, or will Tess’s new owner change her life forever?

Review-
Holy Freakin Moses LOL this book blew my mind! Seriously! Mind=Blown. I don't even know where to begin with this one. Ok I will say THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR EVERYONE! IF RAPE BOTHERS YOU THEN DO NOT READ THIS BOOK. It has rape and lots and lots of really rough consensual sex.

Oh Tess, How my heart hurt for Tess. I felt sorry for her and then I cried for her. She was living a lie and was never truly happy. In a relationship where you crave MORE but are always made to feel like a monster for wanting bondage or pain.

"I wanted a new label. One that said: girlfriend who will do anything to be tied, spanked, and fucked all over rather than adored"

Her boyfriend Brax (blehhhh I hated him and how he made Tess feel as though SHE was a sick monster) wanted to take her on a trip so they go to Mexico and low and behold he cannot even keep her safe.

"I was sold"

Three words that made my stomach churn. This poor girl was never truly happy all to begin with and now she is scared and kidnapped and being beaten and sold to the highest bidder like a materialistic item that doesn't mean shit. Yes I'm a big baby so yes I cried for her but Tess was strong, she was a fighter. They wouldn't break her, she wouldn't let them. She was strong and fought. Fought for her humanity, her life, her freedom, and herself.

She is branded and beaten and bullied and then is SOLD to the beautiful Q. He is beautiful, strong domineering and she hated him.

"Two things I wanted most in the world: for Q to die a miserable death, and for him to fuck me."

Q learns quickly that Tess is not a little play toy to be mistreated. She fights him tooth and nail but strangely is still attracted to this man. BUT Q has never tried to have sex with her???? It gets really good after Q gets her. He is broken and different but you can't quite put your finger on why he is the way he is. Tess gets away and runs but is abducted once again by some not nice men. They hurt her badly and then Q to the rescue again. He saves her. He bought her, he is her master, her protector, and after this night, her lover.

Things start to get explained and I cry some more.... and..... some more.... and.... a little more. Then BAM you find out the real Q. The BEAUTIFULLY broken man that he is. He is not evil but an angel, a savior to many but he fights with the demons within. He hates himself and by this point I had fallen for him and then I cried for Q.

“You want to know how dark I’ll go? I want blood. I want you sobbing at my feet. I want you in fucking tatters. Does that scare you?” "You’re mine. My Tess. Do you like it when I call you that? Mine? All fucking mine.” I shook my head, just to be troublesome.

“I want you. I want your complexities, your shadows. I want your whips, and chains and brutality." "I want to belong to Q.”

Shortly after Q gets freaked (insert the internal demons and fear clawing at him) and sets her free. Tess can't leave him. Her master but she has no choice she is forced. Can she figure out why Q is the way he is? Can she break his walls, make him see she needs him like he needs her?

Seriously this book gets 5 BILLION stars from me! Totally captivating and enthralling and you can't stop turning the pages. Loved this adventure and I can't wait for the next book :)
