Sweet baby Jesus, what did I just read? I went into this book thinking I knew what I was about to read, but in all honesty- I had no idea. The stream of emotions I felt are like none other. I was constantly on edge and constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak. I was frustrated, angry, sad, and happy at times. This is definitely a book that doesn't hold back. It packs a punch and it let's you know it.
This is a story of the wife of a firefighter, Lennox, she also suffers depression. Her depression is real and it's at times, very ugly. It was painful to see the struggle and to feel her pain. Dani Hart does a great job of capturing the essence of this very real disease and the execution was nothing short of brilliant. I really don't want to spoil this storyline, for those who have yet to read it, so I'll say this, it's a very real story, about real life struggles. Life is painful and sometimes brutal, but it's all about how we survive.
I will not soon be forgetting this book and the impact it has made on me. It will forever be a favorite and Dani Hart will definitely be at the top of my authors to watch for list.
